Acoustic and Electric Guitar Lessons

My acoustic and electric guitar teaching combines the organized fundamentals approach of the classical tradition with the by-ear playing and improvisation of contemporary rock, blues and popular genres... in a balance right for each student. All lessons are one-on-one and each student has an individualized learning program tailored to their needs. Lessons are musical experiences as well as educational, and at each lesson students play music with the teacher as well as for the teacher. Method books I use include the 21st Century Guitar Method by Aaron Stang and Blues Guitar by Arlen Roth, along with varied song repertoire as suited to student ability and interest. I also use a large collection of recordings for lesson work in playing rhythm and lead guitar with a backing band. Please see my classical teaching page for more on my teaching philosophy.
